Kids & Youth.

Relay - Ages 4-10

Our Relay team is for children (from Reception to Year 6 age) and families. It’s a team of fantastic volunteers who are passionately seeking to pass the baton of faith on to the next generation, both within the church and across the city of Birmingham, in creative and engaging ways.

Sundays
On Sundays, kids will start with everyone else in worship. At this point, they will be the responsibility of their parent/guardian, although the Relay team will be around to model worship to the kids. We will also provide a resource box filled with flags, inflatable instruments, ear defenders, fidget toys, colouring books, prayer activities, and anything else you or your children may find helpful.

Children will then be invited out to their Relay sessions by the Relay team leaders (indicated by their blue T-shirts) between 10:50-11:00 am. Relay sessions take place in the SSMA Church Hall and provide a fun and engaging group with opportunities for games, prayer, conversation, cooking, Bible study, crafts, and more—all with the core hope of bringing our children closer to knowing more of God. They will then be brought back into the gathering for 12pm.

Blueprint - Ages 11-18

"For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.'‘

Ephesians 2:10

We believe that God’s design for this world is good. We look around and see a world designed for perfection and yet far from it. But we want to be the generation that brings Jesus’ light to earth, revealing God’s blueprint plans as he intended. We believe that we were each designed with a purpose, that God created us and knew us before we were born, with paths already made for us to discover as we walk through life. We aim to take back the blueprint that God drew and intended for ourselves and our world.

Why do we fight for the original blueprint? Because it’s beautiful: full of joy and adventure. True identity is found in Jesus; to live any other way is empty compared to the joy that’s found in Him. We are holding the blueprint plans for JOY.

Fridays
Blueprint meets on Fridays from 19:00-21:00 at the SSMA Church Hall, where we gather for silly games, sugar, table tennis, teaching and worship. We also have regular outreach and social events, which are the perfect opportunity for inviting friends and neighbours.

Sundays
On Sundays, our young people are encouraged to join the services with the rest of the church (with a cosy rug corner so everyone can sit together!) Plus, on the second Sunday of every month, we take a trip to the local coffee shop during the service to enjoy a hot choc together and discuss what we’ve been learning over the past few weeks.
